Established in 2002, the Open University of Cyprus (OUC) is a State University specializing in Distance Education. Utilizing state of the art technologies and specialized methodologies for blended learning, OUC offers accredited undergraduate and postgraduate programmes (at the Master and Doctoral levels), as well as vocational training of short duration. OUC’s advanced e-learning educational process is continuously enriched via the introduction of emerging technologies and associated teaching and learning methods. Support of mutli-disciplinary research is facilitated both on-site as well as remotely via virtual laboratories environments.

OUC is dually oriented toward both the domestic and international educational communities and their activities and goals. The academic programmes offered by OUC are international, well planned and career-oriented to correspond to the needs of the country and the public’s demand for upgrading knowledge and skills. OUC employees 22 academic personnel and more than 300 adjunct staff. For the current academic year, 2016-2017, OUC, has an enrolment of 5100 students and offers 3 undergraduate programes (Culture Studies, Police Studies, Business Administration), 25 postgraduate programmes and 10 PhD programmes. It also offers 3 joint graduate programmes with both the state and private universities of the country.
